Ingredients
Peanuts: High-quality peanuts are the key ingredient. Used raw or roasted (with roasted being more common for their richer flavor), they provide protein, healthy fats, and essential nutrients, boosting both the candy's taste and nutritional value.
Sugar and Syrup: Granulated sugar and syrup bind the peanuts and form the candy's structure. The sugar is cooked to a precise temperature-typically the hard-crack stage (140–150°C / 284–302°F). At this point, it transforms into a brittle coating that encases the peanuts.
Optional Flavorings: Some recipes include a touch of vanilla extract or a pinch of salt. Vanilla adds a warm, aromatic note, while salt balances the sweetness and enhances the overall flavor.
